Volunteers from the United Way’s Success By 6 Program accept donations at Kinney Drugs in Mexico during the United Way’s Success By 6 “Stuff-A-Bus campaign.
Several Frederick Leighton Elementary School students weren’t upset with staying after school. When the new school year commences, the students at the west side Oswego elementary school will once again have the opportunity to stay after school to do their homework. However, the students aren’t fending for themselves.
Veteran Central New York musician, Paul Taylor, will provide the musical entertainment following the 6th annual Child Advocacy Center’s ‘Blue Ribbon Ride’ Against Child Abuse. Scheduled for Saturday, August 22nd, the event is part of the CAC’s Blue Ribbon Campaign that focuses on child abuse awareness and prevention.
Kaylee Gadek, a 2009 graduate of G. Ray Bodley High School, was awarded the Fulton Lions Club’s 2009 H. and Mary Down Memorial Scholarship. The scholarship provides the winner with $500 per year for four years toward their college costs.
This time of year in Central and Northern New York, finding fresh quality produce is as easy as jumping in a car and hitting a country highway, or walking down the street to the local farmer’s market.
