Although school was not in session on May 28, nine Hannibal Central School District students and music teacher Jeff Sawyer combined efforts with local veterans’ organizations and service personnel for an annual Memorial Day ceremony.
The State University of New York at Potsdam recently named 313 students who excelled academically in the Spring 2018 semester to the College’s Dean’s List.
The much-anticipated, fifth annual fabric sale fundraiser to support the Oswego County 4-H Program, part of Cornell Cooperative Extension, will be held on July 14 from 9 a.m.to 3 p.m. at the Believer’s Chapel, 5375 State Route 3, Mexico. The Oswego County 4-H Program is now accepting donations of fabric and other sewing items for the sale.
GO Premiere Motorsports will hold a fundraiser on June 10 at the Sting Tavern, 48 W. Bridge St. It will benefit Pathfinder Bank Small Block Super drivers, #90 Greg O’Connor and #32 Steve Flack.
“The Inspiration for this tour was a connection between Seward House Museum and the Richardson-Bates House Museum,” said Justin White, OCHS board trustee. “The Oswego County Historical Society was the first organization to be invited to visit the Seward House in the summer of 1955, a few months before it officially opened to the public. We are calling this bus trip the ‘Reunion Tour,’ it now being 63 years in the making.”
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on Sunday, June 24, serving from 4 to 6 p.m. The menu, subject to change, will be oven roasted chicken, rice, vegetables, bread, and dessert. Donations are not expected but will be accepted.
The city of Oswego is proud to host the annual Oswego Community Safety Day on Saturday June 9, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. next to the Oswego Fire Department headquarters. The annual event features several local public safety and service agencies promoting their specific areas of expertise.

State Senator Patty Ritchie welcomed leaders from across the agriculture industry to the State Capitol Wednesday for Agriculture Day, a celebration of New York’s leading industry. The event highlights all of New York State agriculture and its hardworking farmers and producers.
The New York State Police will conduct a week-long enforcement initiative to crack down on speeding and aggressive drivers across the state. The “Speed Week” campaign is under way and runs through June 13.
