‘Dracula’ Swoops Onto SUNY Oswego Stage Oct. 14 to 17

Vampire mania sweeps onto campus Oct. 14 to 17 for this forerunner of the genre.“There have been many stage adaptations of Stoker’s novel,” said Mark Cole, the play’s director and professor of theatre, “and for this production we decided to return to the original version.”

Singer, Songwriter Rocky Votolato to Open Indie Series

Born in rural Texas and raised in the Pacific Northwest indie scene, acoustic troubadour Rocky Votolato will headline the next installment of SUNY Oswego's Indie Series on 8 p.m. Oct. 1 in the college's Sheldon Hall ballroom.Votolato’s website calls him “a soft-spoken, very kind, very hard-working father of two, born in rural Texas and raised in the Pacific Northwest indie scene.” He formerly fronted acclaimed rock band Waxwing.

Musical Residency to Celebrate Latin Rhythms

Brian and Rosi Amador, bottom two, will appear with other members of Sol y Canto at a SUNY Oswego concert, with Sweet Plantain String Quartet, at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, in Waterman Theatre of Tyler Hall. Sol y Canto also will offer a lecture and demonstration, songwriting workshop and more during a two-day residency on campus, Sept. 24 and 25.Sol y Canto, a Boston-based national touring group, will offer a lecture, demonstration and songwriting workshop during a two-day SUNY Oswego residency in conjunction with its performance, titled “Sabor y Memoria,” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.

Row 2 (l to r): Mrs. Kathy DeGolyer – Director – Fulton Community Theatre, Chelsea Avery, Laura Perwitz, Lacey Rusaw, Mitchell Lalik, Vanessa Langdon, Jenna Doherty, Alex Bawarski, Nate Deavers and Shane McCaarthy.While students and staff members were on summer vacation, Quirk’s Players of G. Ray Bodley High School were already hard at work on this year’s fall productions. For the first time Quirk’s Players will present two offerings this fall.
