Fear, Attraction Fuel Classic Battle of Good vs. Evil in ‘Dracula’

The play, based on Bram Stoker's novel and the original Broadway play, will run Oct. 14 to 17 in Tyler Hall's Waterman Theatre.The SUNY Oswego theatre department’s Oct. 14 to 17 presentation of “Dracula” will tap into the primal fear and attraction of the unknown that has fanned the popularity of vampire plays, movies and books, new and old.

Born in rural Texas and raised in the Pacific Northwest indie scene, acoustic troubadour Rocky Votolato will headline the next installment of SUNY Oswego's Indie Series on 8 p.m. Oct. 1 in the college's Sheldon Hall ballroom.Votolato’s website calls him “a soft-spoken, very kind, very hard-working father of two, born in rural Texas and raised in the Pacific Northwest indie scene.” He formerly fronted acclaimed rock band Waxwing.

Musical Residency to Celebrate Latin Rhythms

Sol y Canto also will offer a lecture and demonstration, songwriting workshop and more during a two-day residency on campus, Sept. 24 and 25.Sol y Canto, a Boston-based national touring group, will offer a lecture, demonstration and songwriting workshop during a two-day SUNY Oswego residency in conjunction with its performance, titled “Sabor y Memoria,” 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at Tyler Hall’s Waterman Theatre.
