Doc Apple to Play Pumpkin Fest
The unique sounds of Oswego’s own Doc Apple will add to the musical flavor of the Central New York Great Pumpkin Festival with a live performance at 11:00 a.m. on Sunday, October 4th in Washington Square Park in Oswego.
A full day of children’s activities, fishing seminars and outdoor programs are planned for this year’s open house on National Hunting and Fishing Day, Saturday, Sept. 26, at the NYS Department of Environmental Conservation’s (DEC) Salmon River Fish Hatchery.
Titled “Bartow + Metzgar: Spatio Geographica: An Experimental Archive of Human and Nonhuman Agents in North America,” the exhibition finds Richard Metzgar of Oswego’s art faculty and Oswego graduate Paul Bartow exploring what composes the collective of the human and nonhuman.
“This edgy theatrical production takes you on a creative journey through the prose and poetry of the legendary writer and critic Edgar Allan Poe,” Artswego Coordinator Mary Avrakotos said. “It features dramatic readings with a backdrop of modern dance and projected video, and a sweeping cinematic score performed live on electronic and acoustic instruments by Van Slyke.”
