I was reading the Oswego County Humane Society newsletter and they talked about needing more foster homes for rescued animals. I was thinking about volunteering to do that, but here is my dilemma.

Ripley is friendly and sweet and looking for a fur-ever home. She first came to us a few weeks ago with a litter of kittens in tow. She was a very good momma cat and her kids are all weaned.

I have been switching over to a vegan diet, partly because it’s so much healthier, but mostly for ethical reasons. Winter is only getting started, but it has already been pretty awful, gloomy and rainy and muddy and cold and hardly any sun. I know that some people are affected by what is called “seasonal affective disorder” and that a common treatment for the syndrome is to just provide more light. But, now I am wondering about my pets.

The holidays are over and it’s time to get serious about getting through the winter with your pets. Let’s start by making a New Year’s Resolution that your pets are not going to die from antifreeze poisoning! Not very cheery, we know, but important.
