New York State Tobacco Control Programs has been proven to reduce youth smoking and help current smokers quit, which saves lives and millions of state tax dollars. However, higher rates of smoking persist among individuals with less than a high school education (22.4%), income less than $25,000 a year (22.2%) and those with poor mental health (27.2%).

Some Boaters To See Refund, New Fee Schedule Proposed

Boaters who were without power last season at the city’s marinas will be seeing a refund. The city turned off the power to the docks for a period of time in 2017 for safety reasons during the high water. At Monday night’s Administrative Services Committee, Thomas Kells, DPW Commissioner, requested a $100 refund for boaters who docked at the city operated marinas during the 2017 season and were without power because of safety reasons.

CAC Wing Fest Is Almost Here

Excitement is building for one of Oswego’s most anticipated events, the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County Annual Wing Fest. Hosted by the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, East First Street in Oswego, the CAC Wing Fest gets under way this Friday, February 9, at 5 p.m. with an Attitude Adjustment Hour followed by the main event beginning at 6 p.m.
