The Oswego County Health Department offers a variety of services to all residents of Oswego County, including preventive health services, certified hospice, and a maternal and child health program.

Looking for a new perspective on the winter snow? Paint a snowman at the Riverside Artisans next Art Party on January 22 and get a whole new outlook on winter. Participants at the party will paint Bonnie Sommers’ delightful winter scene Mr. Snowman.

All Oswego area residents may use the program. There are no income limitations and no restrictions on the number of items one may buy.

The classes will be held at the Business Resource Center at 121 E. First St., Oswego, from 6 to 9 p.m., January 22 through 26 and January 27 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The Hannibal Historical Society will meet at the Hannibal Community Center on January 22 at 6 p.m. for a covered dish dinner and business meeting.

The Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County has announced that the seventh annual CAC Chicken Wing Fest will be held February 9 beginning at 6 p.m at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center in Oswego.

The Great Backyard Bird Count began in 1998 when the Cornell Lab of Ornithology joined with the National Audubon Society to launch this online citizen-science project to gather information about wild birds – the first of its kind. Now participants can join more than 160,000 Citizen Scientists from more than 130 countries.

Healthy Highways was introduced into Riley and Minetto Elementary School with the goal of shepherding children towards healthy choices with food and physical activity and teaching the benefits of those choices to students for the rest of their lives.
