The Makerspace has an abundance of hands-on, exploratory learning tools: Sphero robots which utilize pre-coding techniques, MakeyMakey kits which teach basic circuitry skills, littleBits invention kits and a 3-D printer.
While students at the Center for Instruction, Technology and Innovation have utilized the organization’s expanded library for a couple of months, an open house was recently held to show staff members how much more enjoyable the library experience is now.
Area students at SUNY Oswego completed their graduate studies and were recognized in December 2017 with master’s degrees and/or graduate certificates.

Members of Port City Toastmasters are planning a meeting on February 6 at 7 p.m. at the Newman Center, 36 New St. Speakers for the evening will include Julie Reed on fundraising options and Kate Olsen, past district governor, will discuss the new computer based Toastmaster training.
The SUNY Oswego planetarium will host “Astronomical Subjects in the Works of Dante, Swift and Verne: Old and New Cosmologies” at 7 p.m. every Sunday during January. The show will explore astronomical subjects in Dante’s “Divine Comedy,” Jonathan Swift’s “Gulliver’s Travels” and Jules Verne’s “From Earth to the Moon and Around It.”
To qualify, students must earn a GPA of 3.5 or higher and complete a minimum of 12 credit hours.
More than 325 students — including several from the area — completed their baccalaureate studies at SUNY Oswego in fall 2017 and were recognized during Commencement in December.
Quirk’s Players of G. Ray Bodley High School is proud to announce that it will present Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin’s classic Broadway musical Annie. Performances are scheduled for March 8, 9 and 10 in the Bodley auditorium. Curtain time is set for 7:30 each evening. Additionally there will be a 2 p.m. matinee on March 10.
