Pet of the Week – Fred

Fred was rescued from under a trailer out in the country after his elderly owner had to go to a nursing home. You would think he had been a pampered house cat his whole life (well except for his bunged up ear, probably from being attacked by an animal or maybe frostbite.) He is a sturdy handsome Tuxedo who loves people, complete strangers even.

CNY Arts Center Plans 2018 Schedule

With the CNY premiere of The Hobbit under way, seven SALT nominations and one exciting win for the 2017 season fresh in hand, CNY Arts Center announces the 2018 season of plays and musicals for the mainstage located at 11 River Glen Drive on the Cayuga Community College Fulton Campus and the Arts Hotspot at 47 S. First St.

Oswego Mayor Billy Barlow presents Oswego resident Julie Foster with a proclamation recognizing November 16 as World Pancreatic Cancer Day. Foster has joined other community members in an effort to raise awareness of Pancreatic Cancer.

On November 16, World Pancreatic Cancer Day, people around the world will unite to Demand Better in the fight against the world’s toughest cancer. According to the American Cancer Society in the United States approximately 53,670 people will be diagnosed with pancreatic cancer; only 9% of those will survive more than 5 years.

Stanley has invited the greater Oswego community to enjoy family outings at Rice Creek, the Shineman Center planetarium, Lee Hall gym and pool, and more from Tuesday, Nov. 21, through Sunday, Nov. 26.

Cruisin’ The Campus At Thanksgiving To Offer Family Activities Galore

Activities abound, many of them free, from shows at the college’s planetarium in Shineman Center to walking or running the track at Romney Field House, and from an art exhibition at Oswego State Downtown to a naturalist-led walk at Rice Creek. Parking is free, although reserved, handicap and overnight restrictions still apply.

Trinity Playground Project Planned

The families at Trinity Catholic School are finalizing design plans for the school’s new playground. Portions of the current playground no longer meet safety codes and therefore need to be replaced.

‘Boeing Boeing’ To Deliver Absurd Comedy, Challenge Stereotypes

The 1960s was a time of revolutionary change, with challenges to social norms as society moved away from tradition. This fall’s student honors production of the French farce “Boeing Boeing” at SUNY Oswego portrays this concept of change by challenging stereotypes and flipping them.
