Oswego City Firefighters Support United Way Stuff-A-Bus

Patrick Dewine, executive director of United Way of Greater Oswego County announced that the Oswego Fire Fighters Association Local 126 is currently collecting school supplies at its main headquarters, 35 E. Cayuga St. in Oswego through today, Aug. 18, in support of the United Way Stuff-A-Bus campaign. The Stuff-A-Bus community collection day is taking place today, August 18, as the United Way looks to fill school buses with school supplies.

Insights Follow Near-Fatal Crash, Informing Artwork In Chinese Watercolorist’s Exhibition

Award-winning Chinese watercolorist Zhinan Jiang, now a visiting professor of art at SUNY Oswego, did not know after a car crash in 1999 whether he would live or, if he did, whether he would walk, talk or paint ever again. Thanks to life-saving care and rehabilitation, for which he is forever grateful, Jiang returned to all that and to enjoy time with a daughter born during his recovery.

Mexico Summer School Program Offers Unique Learning Opportunities

The Mexico Academy & Central School District sought to educate and motive students throughout the summer months to help them carry successes and achievements to the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. A couple hundred MACS students, from kindergartners up to high schoolers, enjoyed summer learning activities which targeted instruction, recovery of credits and/or social-emotional growth.
