Ethan Steers, of Fulton, graduated from Purchase College with a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre and Performance on May 19.

Erica Weldin from Oswego graduated from Siena College on May 14 at the Times Union Center in Albany. The college awarded 799 degrees to the Class of 2017.

Diligence is defined as being hard working and completing tasks with painstaking effort, and staff nominated several students that have displayed this noble trait throughout the school year.

Solar Sal 40, an electric powered 40-foot boat to visit the H. Lee White Maritime Museum at Oswego on July 9. They will be docked in the Maritime Museum’s J. Richard Pfund Boating Center and offering free boat tours from 10 a.m. – 4 p.m.

Residents of the town of New Haven are preparing for the twenty-second annual town wide sales event August 5. The 6th will be the rain date for the garage sales.

An annual event, the baby shower was spearheaded by the OCBC, an organization consisting of representatives from Oswego County Opportunities WIC Program, Oswego Health, Cornell Cooperative Extension of Oswego County, Integrated Community Planning, REACH CNY, Oswego County Health Department, the Pregnancy Care Center and community members that strive to promote and support breastfeeding families.

“United Way’s ‘Day of Caring’ is a nationwide event,” explained Ali McGrath, resource development director for United Way of Greater Oswego County. “We haven’t had a ‘Day of Caring’ of this size in several years. I’ve wanted to do one ever since I joined United Way as an intern. Now, thanks to Rich Burritt, it was able to happen. It was amazing to see it finally come together!”

Leah Weiss, Of Oswego, graduated from Western New England University with a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy Studies.
