If there’s one lesson Fulton City School District sixth graders learned during a recent school lesson, it was to never forget the accomplishments of Fultonians who helped shape the course of history.

This fun-filled day of interactive learning kicked off with a Songs and the Wild presentation, highlighting animals and ecosystems around the globe through music. Classes then embarked on a guided tour of their chosen Earth Day activities.

The Oswego County Historical Society, along with the Friends of Riverside Cemetery, will host a guided cemetery tour of the historic Riverside Cemetery at 4024 County Route 57, Oswego, on June l1 at 1:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The Pulaski Historical Society will hold the next in this year’s series of Brown Bag Lunches on June 14 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The meeting is free and open to the public.

Nazareth students named several local students to the Spring 2017 Dean’s List.

Middle School students from Altmar-Parish-Williamstown Central School District recently spent a day operating WCNY’s Enterprise America City, an exciting hands-on program where students apply STEM (science, technology, engineering and math), financial and civic literacy skills they have learned in class.

Worcester Polytechnic Institute (WPI) began its 149th Commencement celebrations with the graduate students’ ceremony on May 11, awarding nearly 800 masters and doctoral degrees. Justin Okay of Pulaski, N.Y., was awarded a master of engineering degree in power systems engineering.

The University at Albany congratulates the more than 900 students who graduated in December 2016.

Fairley students received a lesson in inclusivity as Move Along Inc. showcased the athletic opportunities available for community members with mobility limitations. Founder Greg Callen shared his story and discussed the challenges he has encountered and been able to overcome through perseverance and hard work.
