Twice a year New York residents can take their unused pharmaceuticals back to collection sites statewide.

Why they should do so is highlighted in the “Undo the Environmental Chemical Brew: Keep Unwanted Medications and Chemicals Out of the Great Lakes” guide developed by New York Sea Grant.

Mystic Music Entertainment’s popular photo booth has been added to this year’s Substance Awareness Family Education Fair for positive message photos. The booth will be set up with some positive messages to use and white boards for your own message.

SUNY Oswego’s chapter of Enactus, a student-run School of Business group that seeks to take entrepreneurial action to shape a better world, qualified for the global organization’s national competition at a regional event March 31 in Washington D.C.

At the end of each high school sports season, the New York State Public High School Athletic Association honors those teams and individuals that excel in the classroom. These student-athletes work very hard at both their sport and their academics and deserve to be recognized for their outstanding academic success.

The students were given the opportunity to tear down an old operations and maintenance building on CiTi’s Mexico campus, a perfect chance for the students to get time behind the wheel of excavation equipment and practice their safety protocol.

Lura M. Sharp elementary School Principal Susan Lohret recently announced the students who were recognized during the third quarter of the school year for their Achievement, Behavior and Effort. The following students were honored with ABE Awards:

Connor Sheffield, a Television-Radio major at Ithaca College’s Roy H. Park School of Communications and Oswego native, was inducted into Lambda Pi Eta, the honor society of the National Association of Communication, on April 18.

Fulton Savings Bank is proud to be a major sponsor of Fulton’s 36th annual Memorial Day Salute. The event will take place on May 27. The parade will start at 10 a.m.
