CiTi received a perfect score of 17,950 out of 17,950 in possible points awarded for criteria such as: safety policies and procedures, indoor air quality, all hazards emergency planning, construction projects, fire safety, vandalism and fiscal liability, among several other categories.
The Town of Volney History Center will host “World War II and Korean War Veterans” presentation and slideshow by Jim Farfaglia. The stirring event will be held at the Volney Town Hall County Route 3, Volney Center, on April 23 at 2 p.m.
Fulton City School District students interested in science, technology, engineering, art and math courses are invited to the second annual GRB Spring STEAM Showcase later this month. The event will take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 26 at G. Ray Bodley High School, where Fulton Junior High School and GRB students interested in the aforementioned fields will explore the passion of current GRB students enrolled in STEAM courses.
The children who visit the Novelis Children’s Park during Harborfest this year will again benefit from the generosity of the Richard S. Shineman Foundation. This year’s grant will be used to sponsor the Robotics and S.T.E.A.M. Station, which hosts a variety of exciting, hands on activities that span the worlds of science, technology, engineering, arts, and mathematics.

Distinguished Service Professor Alfred Frederick of SUNY Oswego last month earned the title of Citizen of the State of Piauí, an award bestowed by the northeastern Brazilian state’s Legislative Assembly for his more than 25 years working to improve education in the state of Piauí and elsewhere in Brazil.
Abigail Shatrau of Oswego has received the SUNY Oneonta 2016-2017 Susan Sutton Smith Award for academic excellence. To be eligible for the award, a student must be a freshman, sophomore or junior with a grade-point average of 3.9 or higher.
The Minetto United Methodist Church will host a free dinner on Sunday, April 23, serving from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. The menu will be spaghetti and meatballs, tossed salad, bread, and dessert.
SUNY Oswego students, including several from the area, served as interns for a wide variety of employers in spring 2017, providing a strong on-the-job learning experience to amplify their coursework.
