It’s All About Nature At Minetto Elementary

The topics of “Life Cycles” and “Winter Adaptations” highlighted a science curriculum and presentation held recently in second and fourth grade classrooms at Minetto Elementary School. Jack Gramlich, an instructor in science education at SUNY Oswego’s Rice Creek Field Station, visited with students on topics specific to the science standards being taught in their classrooms.

Oswego students ‘Rocked the Vote’ in semester-long campaign

SUNY Oswego students supported the national Rock the Vote effort, turning out on Election Night to vote for local, state and national offices — and for “Oswego’s Best Pizza.” The Election Night party in the Marano Campus Center culminated a semester-long effort that included voter-registration efforts, a focus on the Constitution and a campus-community panel discussion on student rights and responsibilities.

Pratt House Museum Announces 36th Annual Parade of Trees

The Friends of History at the John Wells Pratt House Museum would like to announce the 36th Annual Parade of Trees starting with the open house on November 30, from 1:30 until 4:30 in the afternoon. All of the participating Christmas trees will be decorated and you can come and take a peek, BUT, the official voting for your favorite tree doesn’t start until December 1 at 9 a.m.

Oswego Health Offers Convenient Urgent Care Hours on Thanksgiving and Christmas

Oswego Health will have convenient holiday hours at both its urgent care locations on both Thanksgiving and Christmas. The Central Square Urgent Care Center, located at 3045 East Ave., in Central Square, will be open both holidays from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Oswego Hospital’s emergency department will remain open during its normal, 24-hours a day, on both holidays.
