Fred Sarkis was 12 years old and working 15-hour days on his family’s fruit and vegetable truck, when he learned three important life lessons from his immigrant father. The lessons of enthusiasm, education, and integrity or “The Golden Rule,” each stemmed from his personal, daily experiences he shared with his father.
In this role, Sullivan is responsible for FitzPatrick’s overall safety, security, and reliability. He succeeds Larry Coyle who has been named site vice president at the Indian Point Energy Center in Buchanan, NY.

November is Pancreatic Cancer Awareness Month. The vigil will be held on the porch of The Press Box on East First Street from 5-7 p.m. and will continue into the restaurant for munchies and support for anyone who has been touched by pancreatic cancer.
Students in Robyn Yorker’s Stepping Stones Day Program class recently participated in a project designed to teach both physical and behavioral adaptions. The students were learning about brown bats, flying mammals popular throughout Central New York. Al LaFrance, a specialist in bat colony removal, was a special guest host for the students and offered insight into the world of bats.
To offer patients comfort during their chemotherapy treatments, several Oswego Hospital departments, with help from the company, Thirty-One, created 44 attractive bags that are brimming with useful and soothing supplies. There are gloves and socks to keep hands and feet warm, word search puzzles to keep the mind occupied and candy for a little treat.
