Rotarian Judy Young introduced Sophia Giovannetti and James Bailey to the members of the Fulton Rotary Club at a recent meeting. Both students are seniors, members of the National Honor Society, active in many school, sports, and community activities.
Jared Campbell returned to the Hannibal School District recently, this time swinging by Fairley Elementary for a musical presentation on bullying. The Upstate New York musician captivates his student audience by singing songs he’s written about his own life, and getting them involved in the stories and lyrics.
Dr. Jim Steenburgh, from the Department of Atmospheric Sciences at the University of Utah, along with other colleagues from several universities across the country joined with members of the Center for Severe Weather Research to study the unique aspects of lake effect in our region.
Beginning February 1 through April 15, The Retired & Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP), a division of SUNY Oswego’s Office of Business and Community Relations, will staff tax sites in Oswego County.
Registrations for the upcoming 2014 season for Fulton Little League Baseball and Softball will be taking place at the Fulton War Memorial. The dates and times are: Jan. 18, 8 a.m. – noon; Jan. 25, noon – 4 p.m.; and Feb. 1, 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. All boys or girls who reside in, or attend school in, the Fulton or Hannibal school districts are eligible to play Fulton Little League Baseball or Softball.

The Oswego City-County Youth Bureau is accepting applications for mini-grants for 2014. Not for profit community organizations can apply for up to $1,000 for activities for youth during hours when school is not in session. Projects must be completed by the end of 2014 and provide a direct service to children and families in Oswego County.
The Salmon River International Sport Fishing Museum will hold the first in a series of monthly open house events from 2 to 5 p.m. Jan. 19. Michael Riordan, board president, will speak about the history of the B.F. Gladding Corporation from 3:30 to 5 p.m.
Meghan Yost, a junior from Mexico, is among the 346 students named to the fall semester dean’s list at Heidelberg University, according to Provost Dr. David Weininger.
