In 2013, residents in the five-county area of Jefferson, Lewis, Oswego, Oneida, and Herkimer counties packed 16,256 shoe box gifts with school supplies, hygiene items, stuffed animals and small toys for delivery to children ages 2-14 in areas of disaster, poverty, disease and conflict.

The Fulton Area Snow Travelers are a snowmobile club in Fulton. They have hosted the Whiteout Antique and Vintage Snowmobile Show and Swapmeet for four years. This year’s event will be held on Feb. 8 from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. at the Fulton War Memorial, 609 West Broadway, Fulton.
Guest speaker will once again be Kathy Flaherty, an expert in college financial aid who will provide insight for students and parents who are considering community colleges as well as state and private four years schools.
The Oswego County Pioneer Search and Rescue Team will conduct its second Search and Rescue Academy during the late winter and spring of 2014. Class size is limited to 24 individuals. Classes will start March 6 and end June 15.
The Oswego Children’s Theater will host auditions for an upcoming teen theater production, on January 12 and 13 from 6 until 8 p.m. both days. The auditions will be held at the home of the Mosher Family located at 151 E. Seneca St., in Oswego.
Marie C. Schadt recited the oath of office for the District 19 seat on the Oswego County Legislature. Legislator Schadt represents the town of Minetto and portions of the towns of Oswego, Hannibal and Granby.
County Legislator Stephen M. Walpole took the oath of office to represent District 14 on the Oswego County Legislature. Legislator Walpole represents a portion of the town of Scriba.
Legislator Richard P. Kline, District 12, recited the oath of office as he was sworn in by State Supreme Court Justice James W. McCarthy. Legislator Kline represents portions of the towns of Schroeppel and Hastings.
