Children at Oswego Head Start Pre-K showed off the picture frames they made at school recently. Inside the frames are pictures of the child and their dad taken at school during “dads take your child to school day.”
Folgherait also received all-academic recognition from the Intercollegiate Women’s Lacrosse Coaches Association.
The New York State Education Department recently announced that Sandy Creek High School has been designated as a Reward School. The only school in Oswego County to receive this recognition, and one of only a handful of schools in the Central New York region, Sandy Creek High School was selected based on its significant progress in several areas and their and the highest achievement in the state with no significant gaps in student achievement.
The Oswego Public Library is bringing to a close its third and final gallery show of Ella Wheeler’s glass plate negatives. Ella took photographs around town and as far away as Connecticut and Michigan from 1900 to 1909. The gallery is located in the lowest level of the library along with the Library Learning Center, Community Room and restrooms.
John Shaver, board president of the Children’s Museum of Oswego, was the featured speaker at the Fulton Lions Club September 19 meeting. Shaver explained that CMOO’s mission was to establish a non-profit children’s museum to benefit children and families throughout Oswego County.
September as National Sewing Month is the perfect connection for CNY Arts Center to offer a return to the basics of sewing for a new generation. Sew You Can classes for ages 6-18 start Sept. 28 and run throughout the fall at the Arts Center, 357 State St., use the Park Street entrance.
She will be working on research, writing and production for advertising segments dealing with newspaper, magazine, brochures, video production, and web design. Within the public relations realm, Sperduti will be working on communication tactics and news releases.
The Oswego Buccaneer Boosters have planned their biggest and most exciting “BucFest” yet, to celebrate Homecoming 2013 and kick-off the Buccaneers’ varsity home football game against Fulton High School.
Robin France, a teacher with Oswego County Opportunities’ Head Start program, was recently recognized with a longevity award for 20 years of service to OCO and its consumers.
