The students at Trinity Catholic School were recipients of a grant from Dynegy. The award is part of an employee directed grant program. Employee and Trinity parent, James Bevacqua, initiated the application process.
The dune fest educated students about the area including the dunes, animals and ecosystems and was put on through a combined effort through the New York Sea Grant, the State Department of Environmental Conservation, and New York’s State Park System.
Students at G. Ray Bodley High School in Fulton have reason to celebrate. For the fifth time in the history of the Oswego County Academic Youth (OCAY) League, the school clinched the title of overall champion. OCAY League was organized in 1997 with the idea that academics merit a standing comparable to athletics.
Eastern Shore Associates Insurance is a 2013 Project Bloom sponsor. Project Bloom is a joint program of the Greater Oswego-Fulton Chamber of Commerce and the city of Fulton to beautify the city’s entrances and business areas with fresh flowers during the spring and summer months.

The Fulton Memorial Day Salute Parade Committee announces the judges’ awards for Saturday’s parade. The theme for the 32nd Annual Memorial Day Parade was “America, United We Stand.” Based upon this theme, the judges chose several groups in the parade that best represented this year’s theme.
Jonathan R. Sheets has been awarded an Air Force ROTC scholarship to attend a host college or university. He is the son of Rick and Beth Sheets of State Route 104, New Haven.
Scholastic Parent and Child Magazine has named the Great Lakes Seaway Trail as one of its top four Great Road Trips for 2013, selecting destinations to keep the whole family entertained and amazed. The 518-mile Great Lakes Seaway Trail National Scenic Byway runs alongside the freshwater shoreline of New York and Pennsylvania.
For many small businesses, gaining government contracts may seem too challenging, but it could be just a matter of knowing the process, which can be learned during a workshop from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. June 17, at SUNY Oswego Phoenix Center, organizers said.
Samantha Schuffenecker was awarded a bachelor of arts degree from Connecticut College at the 95th commencement ceremony on May 19. Schuffenecker majored in Biological Sciences.
