Every ten years, the county legislative districts we live in are reviewed and changed where necessary because of changes in population. These changes are supposed to ensure that all the county’s districts are roughly equal in population. Just as important, these new districts are supposed to be designed in a way that voters and communities are fairly represented in the county legislature.
The director of the Oswego County Child Advocacy Center, Karrie Damm, received a check from the two Fulton Rotary clubs. Fulton Noon club past president, Judy Young, presented Damm with a check and president of the Sunrise club, Patrick Waite, assisted.

SUNY Oswego will host the 73rd annual Fall Technology Conference on Oct. 25 and 26, offering hundreds of technology education professionals and students more than 50 workshops and a showcase for technological and teaching innovations. Billed as the largest of its kind in the Northeast, the technology symposium debuted in 1939.
“We are very proud of it,” said Liz Burns, director of student health services and one of four full-time nurse practitioners that staff the center, along with a registered nurse, a licensed practical nurse and a secretary.
Community members and lovers of all things Titanic are invited to view the 1958 classic movie “A Night To Remember” on October 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the Beacon Hotel. The film, based on Walter Lord’s book of the same title, was directed by Roy Ward Baker and stars Kenneth More. It recounts the final night of Titanic’s ill-fated maiden voyage.
Oswego County Federal Credit Union and Beacon Hotel have teamed up to sponsor a Trivia Night from 6:30-9:30 p.m., Friday, at the hotel, it was announced by Ashley Galloway, OCFCU member services representative and event chair.
The Oswego High School National Honor Society recently donated in memory of Irene Gilman to the Oswego YMCA’s Strong Kids Campaign. This campaign allows kids and families the opportunity to be a part of the YMCA.
Students at Volney Elementary School in the Fulton City School District learned a lot about where food comes from, making healthy food choices and more during a special after school enrichment program last year called “Grow Your World and Green Your School” or garden club.
