The Minetto Elementary School playground has some new apparatus including a climbing wall, a stand up teeter totter and a xylofun panel. The donation came from the Minetto Home and School Association which raised nearly $8,000 to complete the project.
Oswego Health honored more than 120 employees for their years of service during an employee recognition dinner held May 10. The dinner is held each year in May, which is known to healthcare providers as Healthcare Month.
The Oswego County Legislature’s Public Safety and Emergency Services Committee presented Sonja Shoen-Delong with a certificate of appreciation for her 15 years of service.

SUNY Oswego’s Tyler Art Gallery will present “Paintings and Drawings from the Collection” in a south gallery exhibition from June 8 to July 27. The exhibition will be open 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. June 8 and 9 for SUNY Oswego’s Alumni Reunion Weekend and by appointment thereafter.
If you visit Oswego Public Library any time soon, you’ll be intrigued to find some very unique animal sculptures hovering on the walls and in other places. Created by Nick D’Innocenzo of Oswego and on loan from him, the animals are a delight to behold.
Austin Richards of Fulton, was named to the Spring 2012 President’s List at LeTourneau University. Richards achieved a perfect 4.0 grade point average to receive this honor.
A special Memorial Day commemorative program will be held at the Fort Ontario Post Cemetery at 1:30 p.m. on May 28. Wreath laying ceremonies will be conducted by the Daughters of the American Revolution, U.S. Daughters of 1812, Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and the Friends of Fort Ontario.
