The sounds of  a tuba ensemble consisting of Oswego High School students and teachers Scott Ciesla and Jim Peer serenaded the students from several elementary schools on Friday. A variety of holiday music was played.

Every year students from the Kingsford Park Elementary School conduct a Spell-a-thon where they receive pledges from family and friends. The proceeds benefit the holiday giving drive at the elementary school. Entire fourth grade classes go to Wal-Mart and shop for special gifts.

Fitzhugh Park second graders wore their pajamas, brought along their favorite stuffed animal and enjoyed “Cuddle Up and Read Day” on Friday (the final day before break).
Children, in Cari Joyce’s classroom,  spent the day listening to stories, but also focusing on reading and writing.

Members of Cayuga Community College’s Fulton Campus Rotaract Club recently presented Catholic Charities of Oswego County with a donation in support of the agency’s food pantry.

This year the Fitzhugh Park Elementary family helped 54 families and 142 children to brighten the holiday season. Principal Donna Simmons, Therese McAdams, Nurse Mary Ann Murray, Blake Adkins from Novelis and Alison Adkins of FPS Home and School helped pack boxes with holiday items.

The OHS Inc. students of Oswego High School completed their Hats & Mittens drive for the needy as part of the civic action component of their class. Together they gathered 670 hats, mittens and scarves for the Salvation Army in time for Christmas

Employees of Constellation Energy Nuclear Group’s Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station delivered a generous donation of food and gifts for the families that CENG adopted through Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s Adopt a Family program.

Members of the cast of Christmas on Gloria Street, a children’s musical, recently presented at Holy Trinity Parish in Fulton as a fundraiser for Catholic Charities of Oswego County’s food pantry.
