Oswego Naval Sea Scout Ship 229, H. Lee White Marine Museum Division, performed fall clean up at the Marine Museum on Oct. 29. The crew members pulled old flowers from the pots that were stationed around the museum property and swept up around the grounds. Next to get cleaned up was the National Historic Landmark World War II LT-5 Tug.
DuFore’s has donated a half-carat total weight diamond ring, valued at $1,200, which will be used for a drawing in support of the United Way’s Annual Campaign. The ring is currently on display at DuFore’s. The drawing will be held at 11 a.m. on Dec. 24 at DuFore’s.
Oswego County Opportunities, one of the top 10 largest private employers in Oswego County, has announced that six new staff members have recently completed OCO’s orientation process and will begin to service consumers in their respective programs.
Karrie Damm, executive director of the Child Advocacy Center of Oswego County (CAC), announced that the agency’s eighth annual Blue Ribbon Ride Against Child Abuse raised more than $13,000 to help support the agency’s efforts to combat and prevent child abuse in Oswego County.

Chef Katelyn McCarthy from the Culinary Institute of America dropped by the Culinary Arts classroom at Oswego County BOCES to give a live, physics-inspired cooking demonstration.
This year “Circus Kids Production Program” visited the Oswego school and once again the thrill of accomplishing a circus style act was achieved by each and every sixth grader. The supportive Frederick Leighton Elementary Home and School Association once again coordinated the appearance of this unique and entertaining program.
A portion of the proceeds from the Oz Roller Girls’ last bout of the season provided $200 to the local Suicide Awareness Voices of Education charity, which provides resources and support to attempt to prevent suicide.
