Holocaust Survivor Brings a Message of Hope, Courage and Compassion to BOCES

Holocaust survivor and author Marion Blumenthal Lazan is pictured above with Oswego County BOCES student Matthew Snyder. Lazan spoke to students at OCB about the power of hope, courage and compassion and spent some time after her presentation autographing copies of her memoir Four Perfect Pebbles: A Holocaust Story. Lazan began publicly speaking about her Holocaust story over 30 years ago and in addition to a memoir, her story was the basis for the 2003 documentary titled Marion’s Triumph: Surviving History’s Nightmare.  Marion Blumenthal Lazan witnessed and lived nightmarish moments that many in today’s world thankfully only read about or watch on television. She is a Holocaust survivor and shared with students at Oswego County BOCES (OCB) her own personal story and a powerful message of hope, courage and compassion.

Oswego County Tourism Council Presents Tourism Ambassador Awards

The Bridgehouse Brats surround their founder, Cathy Lee, and AmeriCorps member Anthony Furco at the Phoenix Bridgehouse. The group was presented the Oswego County Tourism Ambassador Award by the County Tourism Advisory Council.The Oswego County Tourism Advisory Council recently presented its 2011 Tourism Ambassador Hall of Fame Awards to the Bridgehouse Brats of Phoenix, Richard and Naneen Drosse of Minetto, and Fred Kuepper of Mexico. The annual awards recognize extraordinary support and commitment of time and energy to the Oswego County tourism industry.
