The high honor and honor students at the Fulton Junior High School have been announced for the third marking period.

The Fulton Art Association will hold its 45th annual art show and competition May 19 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and May 20 from noon to 4 p.m. at the Fulton Municipal Building, 141 S First St.

Oswego is a partner with Clarkson University and SUNY Fredonia on a five-year $6.5 million “Great Lakes Fish Monitoring and Surveillance Program: Expanding the Boundaries” project funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. The colleges have been collaborating to monitor such persistent toxic chemicals as PCBs, dioxins, furans and other legacy pollutants since 2006.

The Oswego County Legislature’s Human Services Committee recently presented a proclamation designating May as Older Americans Month. Since the Older Americans Act of 1955, programs and services have been available to help older adults live longer, healthier lives in the communities of their choice.

Melissa Arduini, administrative aide for MBA programs in the SUNY Oswego School of Business, has earned the 2018 Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Classified Service from the State University system, an honor emblematic of “superior performance and extraordinary achievement” in a state Civil Service position.

The 2018 class of Leadership Oswego County recently toured a variety of sites to learn more about some of the programs, history and nature areas of the county.

Small businesses are selected for the Excellence Awards based on their company’s longevity, innovation, sales growth, increased employment, ability to overcome adversity or community contributions.
