Hannibal Man Charged Under Leandra’s Law After Hit-And-Run Accident

On Sunday (May 1), at approximately 5:33 p.m., State Police in Fulton responded to a hit-and-run motor vehicle accident on County Route 8 in the town of Granby. Investigation at the scene revealed a tan minivan traveling northbound on County Route 8 crossed the center line, side-swiping a vehicle traveling southbound.

Hannibal Man Killed in Logging Accident

The Onondaga County Sheriff’s Office investigated a logging accident that occurred today (April 29) off Prine Road in the town of Lysander that claimed the life of a 55-year-old man. At approximately 3:10 p.m., sheriff’s deputies along with emergency medical personnel responded to 9171 Prine Road for a reported logging accident.

State Police: Children Located, Suspects Sought

UPDATE: Alicia Seelbach turned herself in this morning (April 29) to the Utica Police Department.
State Police said Thursday night the children have been found. The search continues for the two suspects.
The New York State Police and Chief Ronald J. Petrie of the village of Frankfort Police Department (Herkimer County) is asking for the public’s assistance with locating a mother and her two children.

Fulton Woman Charged In WalMart Larceny

On March 28, at approximately 4:29 p.m., State Police responded to WalMart on State Route 3 in the town of Granby for a larceny complaint. State Police interviewed asset protection members who advised that Nichole D. Burr, 20, of Fulton, had entered the store the previous evening and left with multiple electronic devices and cables without rendering payment, police said.

Fulton Council to Hold Public Hearing for Parking Change

Sixth ward councilman, Larry Macner announced the scheduling of a public hearing to be held in regards to a proposed parking change on North Second Street. The change would affect the section of North Second Street from Oneida Street to Seneca Street where cars are currently able to park on the east side of the road with no time restrictions. Macner has proposed the change to a two-hour parking time limit.

Police: Central Square Couple Arrested After Meth Lab Discovered In Apartment

On Monday, State Police responded to 399 State Route 11 apartment 2, in Central Square, regarding a possible meth lab. Oswego County Probation Department members requested the assistance from the NYSP Community Narcotics Enforcement Team and the Contaminated Crime Scene Emergency Response Team after a “one pot” methamphetamine lab was located inside the apartment, police said.

Granby, Fulton Work Together to Complete Dredging

The Fulton Common Council recently authorized the Granby Lake Reclamation Committee to dredge Lake Neatahwanta within city limits. The collaboration needed council approval solely because an outside group will be utilizing their equipment for work within city limits, in which case council permission is required. With the help of Granby Lake Reclamation Committee, city officials are optimistic about the re-opening of Stevenson Beach occurring sooner rather than later.
