A Small Move Brings Big Business Changes To Fulton’s Uniforms, Etc.

Uniforms, Etc. of Fulton outgrew its home on S. 1st St.  This Spring, the business moved about 300 feet away, to the corner of Cayuga St. and S. 2nd St.  Now, you know S. 2nd St. better as Route 481, the main route through the city.  The difference in visibility made a massive difference to Uniforms Etc.’s bottom line — an immediate jump in business.  “People were reminded that we existed because of the move,” the company’s marketing manager says.

More Charges Filed Against Driver In Alleged High Speed Chase

New charges have been filed against the Rochester woman who led police on a three-county high speed chase last Thursday.

Fulton Police say they’ve charged Javonnia Rouse, 30, of Rochester with reckless driving, failure to comply and other traffic-related counts.  She’s also been charged with stealing from Oswego’s Wal-Mart.

A Note To Our Readers: About This Week….

So, how’ve you been?  I’d like to say we’ve been fine, but we haven’t been.  For most of this week, we’ve been dead in the water, and now that we’re back, we’re not exactly in perfect condition.

Sometime overnight Sunday into Monday, the hard drive holding all of Oswego County Today went to Hard Drive Heaven.  The drive locked up tight and refused to let us in.  Our hosting partners immediately set about building a new server for us, which took a day or two to build, set up, test and deploy.

Revote On Capital Project Comes With Board Guarantee: No Local Expense

The Hannibal Board of Education has announced its decision to put the district’s proposed capital project up for a second vote. The vote will be held from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., Jan. 21, 2009 and comes with a guarantee from the Hannibal Board of Education that the project will be delivered with no local expense.

Higgins Case Moved To December

The Fulton code enforcement officer who was arrested Nov. 3 for allegedly skimming money she received for rental permits and contractor licenses will return to court next month. Rita Higgins, 57, of West Fourth Street South, Fulton, was scheduled to make an appearance in Fulton City Court Friday. The case has been adjourned to Dec. 12.

Police Arrest Two For Tampering With Food

Fulton police concluded their investigation into a complaint of food tampering at a local restaurant, making two arrests. Philip F. Dunbar, 30, and Jeremy M. Hankey, 25, both of Fulton, were charged with single counts of third-degree criminal tampering for allegedly spitting into food that was served to a police officer at McDonalds in Fulton. Both are due back in Fulton City Court Dec. 4.
