The city of Oswego and Mayor Billy Barlow are excited to announce the incredible line up for the 2016 Summer Concert Series. The Summer Concert Series combines some of Central New York’s best musical talents with delicious food and beverage options provided by local vendors.
County Legislature Chairman Kevin Gardner is warning people in Oswego County that a black bear has been spotted roaming on the west side of Oswego and outlying areas over the past few days. A bear was seen crossing Ellen Street in Oswego on Tuesday (July 5), and recent bear sightings have been reported in the Town of Oswego, near Hannibal, and at Fair Haven State Park.
Customers lined with their carts outside of the newly remodeled Aldi store in Pulaski, eager to see the store’s new layout and shop the low prices. The store has faithfully served the Pulaski community since its opening in September of 2000, and 16 years later closed for two months from May until July for a complete remodel. “This community has been giving back to us for years,” said District Manager of the Pulaski store, Michael Beach. “With the ever increasing need for fresh products, it was our time to give back to them with a modernized, more convenient store and I’d say we accomplished our task.”

Students will join the Buc mascot to say the Pledge of Allegiance at 6 p.m. and there will be a variety of basket raffles available as well as clambake tickets for sale.
On July 3, at approximately 1:37 a.m., State Police responded to a suspicious vehicle complaint on State Route 69 in Camden. Witnesses told police they found the driver slumped over the steering wheel. He reportedly exited the vehicle, walked to a ditch, sat down and went to sleep.
In a brief reorganizational meeting July 1, the Oswego school board appointed its slate of officers for the 2016-2017 school year. Lynda Sereno was elected as president. Tom DeCastro was elected as vice president. Prior to the meeting, Aimee Callen and James Bell took the oath of office.
Crowds lined West Bridge Street Sunday afternoon to catch a glimpse of the annual Oswego Independence Day Celebration parade. Sunday’s event had something for everyone from marching bands to fire trucks.
A Fulton man and an Oswego man are behind bars, facing several charges. According to State Police, the pair committed larcenies in two counties.

On Wednesday State Police stopped a vehicle on West Street in Syracuse that was operating with three small children in the backseat without proper child safety restraints. Investigation at the scene revealed the operator, Sherita Dana, 33, from Hannibal, and passenger Sabrina Johnson, 30, from Fulton, were allegedly in possession of heroin, Suboxone without a valid prescription, marijuana, and hypodermic needles.
