On Sunday (April 17), Billy Redden, 19, of Williamstown, was arrested by NY State Police – Hastings and charged with DWAI-Drugs, Unlawfully Fleeing a Police Officer in a Motor Vehicle, Marijuana Possession and Reckless Driving in the town of Amboy.
On Monday (April 18), at approximately 1:06 p.m., State Police stopped a speeding vehicle on State Route 48 in the town of Lysander. The operator, Jamison M. Bartlett II, 38, of Pulaski, was wanted on an active warrant by the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office.
Oswego Mayor William Barlow Jr. said he authorized the iron fence surrounding City Hall be taken down. The fence was in bad shape with several missing parts on the West First Street side and it caused a safety concern, he said. A former alderman has a different opinion, however.
On Sunday, State Police responded to a residence in Hannibal, for a domestic incident. Investigation at the scene revealed that Sean P. Moree, 23, of Oswego, entered the residence on Country Lane and became physical with the occupant, in violation of an order of protection, according to police.
More than 160 students gathered outside of Mexico High School this morning in protest of their right to wear bandannas during spirit week. The protest was more significant than bandannas themselves, however. This year, students opted together to wear bandannas made in remembrance of their late classmate, Hunter Fox who passed away earlier this school year. On April 15, at approximately 11:03 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle on State Route 104 in the city of Oswego for a traffic violation. Investigation at the scene revealed the operator, William H. Allen, 55, of Great Mills, Maryland, was allegedly intoxicated.

The annual “Walk for Autism” drew a big crowd to Leighton Elementary School and the nearby Wilber Field on Saturday afternoon. Besides acting as a fundraiser, the event, sponsored by the task force, also focused attention on the plight of Autism victims in Oswego County.
Kit Swartz has been the pastor of the Oswego Reformed Presbyterian Church for so long that he said it is a radically different congregation than when the church began. “It’s changed so many times in 35 years,” Swartz said. “I often tell people I’ve pastored six or seven different congregations in the same place; it’s just changed so much.” The Oswego RP Church began meeting in the Oswego Town Hall in late 1970s.
State Police arrested Shawn G. Horning, 41, from Parish, for Grand Larceny in the third degree. He is accused of stealing more than $4,200 worth of tools while being employed as the shipping and receiving clerk at the EJ USA Syracuse Castings Facility in Cicero.
