Eastside Oswego Man Facing Felony Rape Charges

handcuffsOn Tuesday, the Oswego City Police Department received a complaint of an alleged sexual assault. An investigation was conducted and on Thursday, Roderick C. Matott, 56, of 112 ½ E. Oneida St., Oswego, was arrested and charged with the following: Rape in the 1st degree- by forcible compulsion- Class B Felony and Rape in the 2nd degree, Actor more than 18 years old and victim under 15 years of age- Class D Felony.

Children’s Museum of Oswego eager to reveal feasibility study results

It will be on January 29 at 7 p.m. at the American Foundry. The board of trustees commissioned Dr. Robert “Mac” West of Informal Learning Experiences, Inc., to conduct the study. Dr. West’s study will help place CMOO into the dynamic community and includes an assessment of the current state of financial, cultural, and demographic aspects of our area.

Oswego School Board Disputes Financial Stress Claim

cashThe state comptroller’s report listed the Oswego district as mid to mid-high level to being susceptible to fiscal stress. The state told districts to cut down their fund balances; now we’ve done that and all of a sudden we are in ‘financial stress’? the board vice president asked. As far as the money we have, cash on hand, I feel pretty good about how much we have in reserves, another board member said.

Barclay: Tax Cuts, Ethics Part of Budget Proposal but CNY Left Out

Assemblyman Will Barclay released the following statement today (Jan. 22) following the Governor’s 2014-15 Executive Budget proposal. I am pleased to hear about the tax cuts for Upstate manufacturers. Cutting corporate taxes will give businesses more reason to stay as well as attract others. It was disappointing to hear so little about Central New York in the speech. I hope the budget reveals other details for our region.
