At a recent Scriba Town Board meeting, three Scriba residents were presented awards, the result of their quick response to an incident that occurred on Sandy Pond on August 5.
The victim was initially treated at Oswego Hospital and later transferred to University Hospital in Syracuse with non–life threatening injuries, police said.
At 5:58 p.m. on Wednesday, Albert M. Moody, 69, of 245 County Route 29 Apt. A, Oswego, was arrested for first-degree criminal sex act, a class B felony; first-degree rape, a class B felony; first-degree sexual abuse, a class D felony and endangering the welfare of a child.
The arrest follows the investigation into a traffic stop on SR 104 initiated by the LPR unit alerting and showing a stolen vehicle from an impound yard in the city of Oswego.
Housing Visions held a ribbon cutting ceremony on Wednesday to mark the completion of the Oswego Hamilton Homes redevelopment. The Oswego Common Council approved Local Law No. 2 of 2012 Monday night without any discussion. The discussion took place prior to the regular meeting. It is an attempt to ensure proper background checks are done on potential taxicab drivers, explained Third Ward Councilor Mike Todd. Taxi companies will have a two-week grace period to get the background checks done after the new law goes into affect.
