Also in June, Oswego veterans are honored by the state. The public is warned about new designer drugs and Dave White officially starts campaigning to become Oswego’s next mayor.
Also in May, city police investigated the theft of some potentially deadly medications. The school budget was passed and Oswego Sub Shop was honored with a SBA Small Business Excellence Award.
Also in March, the Oswego City School District says goodbye to the middle school principal and sees its tax deal challenge dismissed. And, two school district employees were honored for saving a child’s life.

The annual Warm Up, Oswego celebration was a huge success to start the month. And, at the end of February, nearly 100 people took part in the annual St. Baldrick’s Foundation event to help kids who are suffering from childhood cancer
Also in January, a 77-year-old man was honored for saving three boaters on Lake Ontario. And a guilty verdict is returned in a local murder trial.
“History is on our side for a white Christmas,” said Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service. Dating back 47 years, to 1964, generally about three-quarters of our Christmas Days have been white, Gregway said. However, he admits, Mother Nature may supersede history this year.
“What can you say about it? We had a really nice fall,” said Bill Gregway, local observer for the National Weather Service. “It still feels rather autumnal out there.” Going back 43 years, to 1969 when Gregway started his tenure as observer, this is the warmest fall; with 2001 in a tie with 1999 for second place.
