Representatives from Harborfest and the city gathered Monday night to discuss what they could do to help each other – and save time and money in the process. The city is going to support Harborfest, according to Mayor Randy Bateman. “We’re just trying to decide at what extent,” he added.
The agency works on behalf of the county legislature for the betterment of the residents of Oswego County, its executive director said. Its mission is to “interpret, disseminate and deliver research-based information and knowledge on issues relevant to Oswego County.”

Spokesperson Jill Lyon said that at about 10:56 a.m. Wednesday, a main steam isolation valve closed on its own. The malfunction caused the reactor to begin an automatic and orderly shutdown.
Lyon said the shutdown went according to plan and the plant is in “a safe and stable condition.”
The state has suspended the license of an Oswego physician.
Dr. David Granoff, an ear, nose and throat specialist, has agreed to an indefinite suspension.

Reginald Stepp of Syracuse pleaded guilty in Onondaga County Court to felony aggravated cruelty to animals for beating the pit bull puppy so severely that its jaw was nearly ripped off. On Tuesday, he was sentenced to six months in jail.
