Search Continues For Missing Scriba Man

March 2010 Was Warmer Than Normal

An Easter Tree blossoms in the warm March weather on East Albany  Street in Oswego.

The average temperature last month was 6.2 degrees higher than average. However, that is only No. 7 on the list of all time warmest Marches since 1844. Flowers and trees all over were starting to pop out.

OMS Community Remembers Special Teacher, Fights Cancer

These members of the OMS faculty and staff decided to shave their  heads as part of the fundraising effort. In front are: Rory Malone, Dan  Rose and Mike Wilson. In back are: Ken Kern, Steve Cass, Jamie Sykut and  Rocco Favuzzi.

Oswego Middle School’s faculty, staff and students came together for two big fundraisers in one night. A dodgeball tournament was held in the gym. During halftime, several members of the faculty had their heads shaved. Their efforts raised more than $1,392.

Oswego High School Inc. Students Take To The Streets In Support Of Fort Ontario

OHS students held an informational walk and rally at Fort Ontario  on Wednesday. The teens want to send a message to state leaders -  "Save Fort Ontario!"

On Wednesday, Oswego High School Inc., students marched from OHS to Fort Ontario to encourage people to lobby their elected state government officials to save Fort Ontario from budget cuts.

Oswego School Board Eyes Plan To Spare Leighton

Leighton supporters applaud the school board's decision Tuesday  night not to close Leighton Elementary. The board will vote on the final  budget proposal on April 13.

A new budget option proposed at Tuesday night’s school board meeting spares Leighton Elementary. It would also contain a zero percent tax levy increase, using funds from the reserves and surplus to get there.
