Oswego Board Member and Superintendent Lock Horns Again, This Time In Middletown
Oswego school board member Fran Hoefer went to to Middletown to defend Middletown school board member Roy Paul who is in danger of being kicked off the board for misconduct. However, Hoefer was removed form the meeting by police and not allowed to comment because he isn’t a taxpayer in that district.
Report: Hoefer Escorted From Meeting In Middletown
Oswego Board of Education member Fran Hoefer was escorted by police from a school board meeting in Middletown, New York Thursday night and was held in jail briefly, according to a report in the Middletown Times Herald-Record.
The school district’s superintendent is Ken Eastwood, who battled often with Hoefer when Eastwood was Superintendent of the Oswego City School District.

The Oswego School Board spent considerable time Tuesday night debating a confidentiality resolution. However, the board decided to withdraw the resolution instead of acting on it. Board member Fran Hoefer said he wanted the resolution to be approved, so he could challenge it in court.
Leighton Supporters Turn Out In Force
The Oswego School Board Room was jammed packed Tuesday night with supporters of Leighton Elementary School. Many of them took the opportunity to voice their opposition to a plan that would close the west side school.
