Memory Of Pulaski Parole Officer Killed In Accident Will Be Honored Today
A fallen parole officer from Pulaski will be honored today in Albany.
Jeffrey Woolson’s name will be added to the state Parole Officers Memorial in Albany, in a morning ceremony at Empire State Plaza that will feature a gathering of parole and probation officers from around the state. Gov. David Paterson will speak at the ceremony.
Battle Of The Bulge Veterans Remember Fallen Comrades
The organization was formed in 2002 to honor the local men who fought in the Battle of the Bulge and keep alive the memories of those who made the ultimate sacrifice, according to chairman John Canale. He describes the members of the group as “patriots” and “heroes.” This fall, they will start offering a scholarship to an OHS senior who will be entering the armed forces.
Woman Crusades For Safer Sidewalks In Oswego
She went out and documented the condition of all the sidewalks in the city. This way, she says, the city can’t say it doesn’t know where the potentially dangerous areas are.
Coast Guard Station Oswego Welcome New Commander
Chief Boatswain’s Mate Joe Orlando took command of the station as Chief Warrant Officer 2 Ursula Walther prepares to head to her new post in Miami. As Officer In Charge, Walther inspected her crew for the last time prior to being relieved of command by Orlando. It was also an opportunity for him to conduct a personnel inspection of those who will be in his new command.

Brutus and his sister, Zoey, enjoy an ice cream sundae recently at West Second and Utica streets in the Port City.
The “Rover Sundae” is made specifically for four-legged patrons such as the two Pugs. It consists of vanilla ice cream with peanut butter swirls and crushed doggie biscuits sprinkled on top.

She answered questions on topics ranging from diversity to rising tuition costs. Partnerships among SUNY, the colleges and others will be increasingly important in the future, she pointed out.
Oswego Man Charged With Sexually Abusing Child
Police charged Timothy D. Sheldon, 27, of 371 County Route 89, Oswego with criminal sexual act, sexual abuse and course of sexual conduct, all felonies, as well as a misdemanor count of sexual abuse and two misdemeanor counts of endangering the welfare of a child.
Do This Tonight: Swingin’ Big Band at Breitbeck
The 17-piece big band led by Stan Gosek will blow through a handful of classic swing tunes, such as Count Basie’s “Jumpin’ At The Woodside”, Glenn Miller’s “In The Mood”, “Satin Doll”, “Minnie The Moocher”, “Harlem Nocturne”, and more.
The show begins at Breitbeck Park at 7:30 p.m. Bring your chair and perhaps a blanket, as it’s likely to be a tad cool by the lakeside late in the day.
