Oswego’s Coast Guard station has had a busy week. Saturday, they resuced two men swept by waves into Lake Ontario and earlier in the week, they rescued four people from a capsized boat.
Crowds lined West Bridge Street Sunday afternoon to catch a glimpse of the annual Oswego Independence Day Celebration parade. Sunday’s event had something for everyone from marching bands to fire trucks.
Myriam Oosterkamp said she also wants to take plenty of American candies back to Germany. Her time in Fulton has gone by much too quickly, she said. She will miss the friendly people here and try to stay in touch with all her new friends, she added.
The first step in the process required to improve Oswego County’s emergency communications system is well underway. This week, Oswego County E-911 director Michael Allen provided the Public Safety and Emergency Services Committee with an update on that project.
