The FCSD Board of Education unanimously approved the Smart Schools Bond Act preliminary investment plan for the second phase at Tuesday’s (Feb. 9) regular board meeting. The Smart Schools Bond Act was passed by voters in a referendum in November of 2014 and allotted $2 billion dollars to NYS school districts to heighten learning through technological and infrastructure enhancements. This evening (Feb. 11), at the nominating meeting of the Oswego County Republican Committee, Congressman John Katko (NY-24) was unanimously endorsed in his campaign for reelection to the U.S. House of Representatives.
Thomaris Y. Pease, (09/09/81), (Driver), and Angelica S. Crolick, (6/14/89), (Passenger), both of 128 Wente Terrace, Apt. 1, Syracuse, were arrested on Feb. 9, while driving on State Route 481 in the town of Schroeppel.

On Feb. 10 at 12:18 p.m., sheriff’s deputies arrested Perry F. Smith Jr., 21, of 11570 White Road, Cato. He was arrested for three counts of first-degree sex abuse, a class D felony and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a class A misdemeanor. The arrest stems from the investigation into incidents that occurred on December 30 and 31 at a residence in the town of Granby.

State Police arrested Robert H. Boyer, 67, from Pulaski, for Criminal Sex Act 3rd degree, a class “E” felony; Endangering the welfare of an incompetent or physically disabled person 2nd degree, a class “E” felony; Forcible Touching, a class “A” misdemeanor and Sexual Abuse 2nd degree, a class “A” misdemeanor.
The Oswego County Health Department reported today (Feb. 10) that a fox in the town of Minetto has tested positive for the rabies virus. Two people are undergoing post-exposure rabies treatment as a result of an encounter with the fox.
