On March 9, at approximately 2:34 p.m., State Police stopped a vehicle operating erratically on State Route 690 in the town of Lysander, Onondaga County. Troopers reportedly observed various drug paraphernalia and evidence of recent drug use within the vehicle. The three occupants were arrested.
On March 12, at approximately 12:29 a.m., State Police stopped a vehicle operating without headlights in the village of Phoenix. The driver, Timothy N. June, 33, of Phoenix, was found to allegedly be intoxicated.
On March 11, at approximately 7:10 p.m., State Police responded to a one car motor vehicle accident at County Route 4 and Redschoolhouse Road in the town of Palermo. One vehicle was located in the ditch at that intersection, troopers said.
Nestled in a bright, open room in Wilber Hall’s lower level, the CARE — Credit Accrual and Recovery for Everyone — program hosts 11 students in grades 9 to 12 who work one-on-one with a CiTi teacher, School of Education faculty members and students from around campus. Oswego County Fire Coordinator Donald Forbes reminds county residents of the annual statewide ban on all open burning which is in effect in New York State during the high fire-risk period of March 16 through May 14. The ban makes it illegal to use a burn barrel or open pits as a means for incinerating trash any time of the year.
Dozens of businesses and individuals have donated hundreds of items for the Youth Bureau’s upcoming event. Prizes include gift certificates, bikes, a diamond necklace and much more. The event is set for March 26 in West Park. A children’s parade will be at 10:30 a.m. and the hunt starts at 11 a.m.
