All motorists and residents are advised that East Avenue between Maple Street and City Line Road will be closed to through traffic on November 3 and 4 in order to facilitate reconstruction of the CSX Railroad grade crossing. Churchill Road will be closed to through traffic on November 4 and 5.

At Monday night’s public session prior to the Common Council meeting, Kathleen Harris, a westside city resident, said the situation in her neighborhood was getting out of hand. “We have an issue here you must address. It’s a quality of life issue,” she told the councilors. “It’s become very unpleasant to live with all the cars parked on the side of the street.”
Cody Fire Department responded to a one vehicle accident call at 12:27 p.m. today (October 26.) The vehicle had gone off the road at 428 State Route 48 where it then collided with two trees before coming to a stop.
Today Omar Bellamy of Syracuse, was sentenced in Oswego County Court to five years in state prison and three years post-release supervision upon his conviction for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Third Degree, a Class B Felony. He was also sentenced to two years in state prison and three years post-release supervision upon his conviction for Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance in the Fourth Degree, a Class D Felony.
