Oswego Council OKs Hiring A Consultant

Councilors voted 6-1 to authorize the mayor to sign a proposal to hire Connecticut Planning and Development. The cost will be $20,000 and will be paid out of the 2015 Planning Budget (Fees for service – non-employee – consulting account). The consultant will “provide professional service in order to prepare a competitive and data-driven strategic plan to submit to CNY REDC” as the city is seeking a large pot of funding from the state.

High Water Levels Doesn’t Deter Paddlefest

As predicted, the water levels were regular Saturday morning and Paddlefest held a successful 10-mile trek of paddlers from Fulton to Oswego. Hundreds of people took part in the third annual Paddlefest event. After completion of the paddle, Rock the Locks was held at Oswego Yacht Club Marina, where there were musical performances, food vendors, drinks, children activities and more.

Gov. Cuomo Announces $18 Million To Fund Projects Generating Economic Opportunity

Governor Andrew M. Cuomo announced (July 9) that more than $18 million in economic development funding has been approved for 19 projects that are generating economic growth statewide. The funding, approved by Empire State Development’s Board of Directors, supports projects that are creating 403 new jobs and retaining 1,474 existing New York State jobs.
