Mayor Announces Temporary No Parking Zones

The City of Oswego Traffic Department will be establishing Temporary No Parking zones in selected areas throughout the city over the next few days. This temporary posting will allow the city’s DPW personnel to clear existing snow piles to the curb line, the mayor said. It will also enable them to cut back existing snow banks that obscure vision to drivers and endanger pedestrian traffic. These temporary signs will be identified by their bright orange color.

Operators at Nine Mile Point Nuclear Station returned Unit 2 to full power operation Tuesday morning (Feb. 24) after addressing an electrical issue. On February 18, technicians were performing maintenance when a valve was inadvertently activated, causing water levels in the reactor to rise temporarily.

Fulton Police Warn Against Putting Snow In Roadways

The Fulton Police Department wants to remind people NOT to deposit snow/ice in the streets. With the poor weather and daily snow accumulations over the past month, many residents are running out of places to put the snow. There have been reports of snow being plowed, blown and shoveled into the street. Placing snow/ice in the roadway creates a hazardous condition for vehicular traffic, which are forced to drive into or around the obstacle.

We are on the verge of losing the war on drugs unless all agencies pull together, a speaker at the recent county legislature meeting cautioned. The problem went much further, deeper, darker and twisted than he thought possible, Paul R. The Oswego County Health Department has announced the Oswego County Long Term Home Health Care Program is officially closed as of Feb. 13, 2015. “Although the County Long Term Home Health Care Program is closing, the health department will continue providing Hospice and Home Health Care Agency services to county residents. We continue to be the provider of choice for quality home care services in the county,” said Jiancheng Huang, Oswego County Director of Public Health.

In a brief ceremony in the Fulton High School art room Crast was very emotional and excited when Oswego Harborfest Executive Director Doug Buske announced that her work was chosen to represent this year’s celebration.
