As concerned community members question the status of demolition at the former Nestle site and ALDI Inc.’s plan to potentially bring a food store to Fulton, city leaders shared some disconcerting news on Tuesday (June 3). “The property owner is AWOL,” Mayor Ron Woodward said during Tuesday’s council meeting. “He won’t answer any calls. … ALDI’s still says they’re going through with it.”

More than 300 people attended State Senator Patty Ritchie’s annual Oswego County Job Fair today (June 4) at the Fulton War Memorial. Those in attendance were able to meet with nearly 50 employers, many of whom were looking to hire immediately. Forty-eight employers participated in the annual job fair.
Collectively, those employers were hoping to fill more than 100 jobs.

Project Lifesaver, otherwise known as electronic technology to locate missing persons, appears to be a success in Oswego County. Recently, a client, approximately 80 years old, from the town of Constantia, who was registered with Project Lifesaver and wearing a transmitting bracelet, went missing one hot, sunny afternoon in June.
The Oswego High School conducted its annual awards assembly on Monday at the Robinson-Faust Theatre for the Performing Arts.
The first Lake Ontario Central New York Lighthouse Challenge will take place this year on June 21 and 22. The challenge is to visit six unique New York lighthouses within two days. The official challenge route starts with Oswego’s West Pierhead Lighthouse and then moves East and West from the Thousand Islands to Rochester.
