Oswego High Top 100 Receive Deserved Recognition

The Oswego High School Top 100 students were recognized for the twenty-fourth consecutive year. Several hundred people packed the Oswego High School Dining Hall for the annual “Top 100” dinner. This year, Oswego Rotary, PathFinder Bank,  NBT Bank, and the Oswego City School District hosted the event with the Oswego City School District Food Service Department supplying a buffet extravaganza.

John Nagelschmidt has had his picture taken in front of Midway's marquee more than 100 times!John Nagelschmidt wanted to do something different to mark 80 years of drive-in theaters in America. This Friday night, Midway Drive-In in Minetto will show Going Attractions a documentary film directed by April Wright as part of a triple feature. The documentary will screen between family-friendly Epic and comedy classic Young Frankenstein. Wright frequented drive-in theaters growing up and made the film to answer the question: what happened to them?

Exhibits  will focus on aspects of current and historical local significance, imaginative play, the arts, science and mathematics. When have we cut enough?

The Common Council will soon be considering a resolution that will result in the elimination of positions within the fire department. There are currently four newly created vacancies that were included in the 2013 budget and anticipated to be filled. This comes as a surprise, based on the fact that we recently suffered cuts to daily staffing and made concessions through contract negotiations to accommodate the 2013 budget.
