Lisa A. Merritt, 51, of Fulton, was arrested after an investigation by the Fulton Police Department. According to police, Merritt is accused of engaging in sexual conduct with a person over the course of a two-year period starting when the victim was 14 years of age. These incidents occurred at the suspect’s home in the city of Fulton.
While it appears that Central New York will escape Winter Storm Janus, another blast of arctic air will keep temperatures in the single digits for at least a few days. Mary Vanouse, community development director, requested authorization for the city to enter into a lease agreement with the museum for Oswego West Pierhead Lighthouse. The Oswego War of 1812 Symposium returns to the Port City for its fourth year. Once again, it includes a full commemoration weekend of this historic war that secured America’s independence and earned the young nation worldwide respect. The event runs from April 4 to 6 at the Lake Ontario Event and Conference Center, 26 E. First St., Oswego.
The New York state Route 3 Broadway Bridge rehabilitation remains in winter hiatus, but despite the delay of one construction season, the project, sidewalk shuttle service and traffic patterns are moving along better than expected. Department of Transportation spokesman Gene Cilento said Jan. 17 that the comprehensive bridge rebuild is going as planned.
