Oswego City, County Officials Hear About State of The State

The state commissioner of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation chats with Terry Hammill of the Port Authority Board following the presentation.Getting relief from all the unfunded mandates is a priority for local officials. No one wants to raise taxes, city officials said. However, the mandates are making it tough not to, they added. “As long as we have a dialogue going, (the governor) knows where we stand. Track Coach’s Stipend Can’t Clear Committee Hurdle

BOE_oswegoA nearly $11,000 stipend for the boys’ varsity track coach came under fire at Wednesday’s committee. An audience member pointed out it is almost $5,000 higher than what any other coach receives in the district. The committee took no action on the resolution. It will likely return to the floor of the committee in February.
