Chelsea Kimball, a young mother of three, is determined to help create a bright future for her hometown of Fulton and all of Oswego County. While her husband is on active duty with the National Guard, Chelsea, along with her children has been busy volunteering to clean parks and other areas in the county. It’s her way to give back to the community and show her children the importance of caring for the community they live in.
Congressman Dan Maffei joined 174th Attack Wing members on Wednesday afternoon to observe the MQ-9 Maritime Exercise and tour 174th Attack Wing’s Mobile Emergency Operations Center at Coast Guard Station Oswego. Maffei was joined by Col. Greg Semmel and other members of the 174th Attack Wing.
Oswego City Police were on the scene investigating a possible illegal methamphetamine lab located in the residential area of 116 East 11th Street in the City of Oswego Thursday night. Acting on information developed as a result of the department’s on-going investigation into illegal drug activity, members of the Oswego City Police Department executed a search warrant at the East 11th Street residence.
From mid-August through Labor Day, local police will be out in force as part of the annual nationwide “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” crackdown on drunk driving. The crackdown, which will include high-visibility enforcement throughout Oswego County, will run from August 16 through September 2.
In the wake of the discovery of Eastern Equine Encephalitis and the West Nile virus in Oswego County, State Senator Patty Ritchie has announced “Tire Amnesty Day,” a free event that will be held on August 24 to help people dispose of waste tires, which often act as breeding grounds for disease-carrying mosquitoes.
On August 14, 2013 at about 9:15 p.m., members of the Oswego County Sheriff’s Office were sent to investigate a reported domestic incident at 55 Siembor Drive in the Town of Oswego. When deputies arrived, they found the body of a 43-year-old woman in one of the bedrooms of the residence.

The city will use more than $206,000 to establish an accounting reserve to pay for certain special projects. The money was in an account used to pay for the 2002 East Albany Street Bridge project.
The city of Oswego Department of Public Works Water Maintenance personnel will be performing preventative maintenance flushing of the water distribution system on the eastside of the city starting on August 19. The affected area will be north of State Route 104E to the lakeshore and from East First Street to the eastern city limits, starting at East First and Bridge streets.
