At 5:18 p.m. on Monday, Chad E. Grinnell, 30, of 14 Country Lane, Hannibal, and BillieJo E., Lewis, 32, of US Route 11 Bldg. 12, Mexico, were both arrested at the Oswego County Jail for third-degree methamphetamine manufacturing, a class D felony.

During a special meeting Monday night, the Cayuga Community College Board of Trustees voted 6 to 3 to accept agreements with the four college bargaining units. This action prevents employee layoffs and will balance this year’s operating budget. The college needed to reduce expenditures of its $32.36 million operating budget by approximately $1.5 million before the end of the fiscal year on August 31, 2013, to help make up for an unexpected 5 percent enrollment decrease.
The idea is to see what the cost estimate would be and what the design could be for the parking lot on Water Street, which could possibly be on two levels and bring retail kiosks and perhaps even mixed use development down to the River Walk, according to city officials.
The 32nd annual Memorial Day Salute, May 24 and 25, held at the Fulton Community Center on West Broadway, will feature the Magical Mystery Tour. This popular Central New York Beatle Tribute Band will perform on May 24 at 7 p.m. and will be sponsored by National Grid. Former Raider Laxmen Ross Maxam and Brett Williams traveled to Long Island with their team, Onondaga Community College, May 11 and 12. They brought home the NJCAA National Championship. This was the Lazers fifth straight championship title and its 70th straight win, breaking the all-time record by any level college lacrosse team of most consecutive wins.
A motorcycle operated by Robert E. Gale, 65, of Florida, collided with a car in Hastings. An investigation has led to the driver of the car being ticketed, sheriff’s deputies said.

911coordinators from all over New York State attended training sessions, business seminars, and mingled with vendors over the three days. Senator Patty Ritchie was one of the featured speakers. The 911 Coordinators Association holds the conference twice a year, and this spring was Oswego’s turn to host.
Even a little rain couldn’t keep members of SAF (Services to Aid Families) and the community from the 12th Victim’s Rights Tree Planting Ceremony recently. Every year, the ceremony takes place in a different community in Oswego County. This year’s tree was planted outside the Hannibal Town Hall.
