State OKs Low-Cost Power For Fulton’s Closed Birds-Eye Plant

Fulton’s closed Birds-Eye food processing plant is getting one more boost in the effort to find a buyer to reopen it. The New York Power Authority’s Recharge NY program has approved a $3.2 million dollar purchase of low-cost power for the plant.

Memorials Mark The Spot Where Four Men Died

A bracelet, labeled a "healing bracelet", hangs from a branch at the site of the crash on Engles Rd.Flowers, crosses, even a bracelet are among the items people are leaving at a spot off Engles Road in the town of Hannibal.

There has been a steady stream of people coming to add to or visit the makeshift memorials mark the place where four men died Monday night.

Fundraiser Set Saturday For Cancer Survivor

Looking on is Mayor Tom Gillen.Makayla Walker, of Oswego, was diagnosed last fall with an abdominal desmoid tumor. It is so aggressive it is classified as a cancer. A grassroots effort has resulted in a fundraiser set for the American Legion with “tons and tons of raffles.”

Asbestos abatement under way at OHS

Asbestos abatement will be conducted during the spring break at the
Oswego High School. Continuing work at the school is part of the project to improve the restroom facilities. By the time the students return the restrooms that have been renovated on the south side of the building should be ready for use.
